Job summary

CACI International Inc in Sterling, VA seeks a Senior Infrastructure/System Administrator to design architectures for new and existing systems, coordinating design, security, integration and testing.

You will manage cloud and on‑prem environments (AWS and data centers), implement IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation, support CI/CD pipelines, and ensure robust security and uptime.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required (polygraph possible).
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years as an IT system administrator or related role.
• Deep knowledge of AWS core services and hybrid networking.
• Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC and CI/CD tooling.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Support design, security and maintenance across cloud and hybrid environments powering the software development lifecycle.
• Act as bridge between system operations and development teams across AWS and on‑prem data centers.
• Manage highly available, scalable, automated environments with secure access and CI/CD toolchains.
• Perform systems design, development, and integration through the system life cycle.
• Implement infrastructure, install/configure OSes and management tools, and test thoroughly.
• Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Maintain robust security measures including backups and redundancy.
• Prepare documentation for engineering processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, security and maintenance across the cloud and hybrid/cloud computing environments that power our software development lifecycle.
• Act as a critical bridge between system operations and development teams, managing a robust infrastructure that spans AWS cloud services and on-premises data centers.
• Manage a highly available, scalable, and automated environments, ensuring developers have the secure access, CI/CD tools, and computing resources they need to build, test, and deploy code efficiently.
• Perform systems design, development, and integration throughout the entire system life cycle.
• Implement moderately complex infrastructure, including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Conduct systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Maintain robust security measures, including backup and redundancy strategies.
• Prepare and comprehensive documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance (Willing and able to obtain a polygraph)
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years as an IT system administrator, or related experience.
• Technical understanding of: Cloud Infrastructure: Deep expertise in AWS core services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and Systems Manager (SSM). Hybrid Networking: Proven experience configuring AWS Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPNs, and hybrid DNS architectures. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on proficiency with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to provision multi-environment stacks. CI/CD Platform Support: Experience maintaining and scaling the infrastructure for GitLab CI or GitHub Actions. Operating Systems & Scripting: Advanced administration of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments, utilizing Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation.
• Demonstrated proficiency as a Linux system administrator.
• Scripting and coding skills, particularly in Python, or similar languages.

Desired

• Expertise in operational support and system maintenance.
• Familiarity with Containerization & Orchestration, managing native Kubernetes clusters and AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) or native Kubernetes clusters with Ansible automation.
• Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
• Experience with automation and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, virtual networking)

The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is

$86,600 - $181,800
