Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. Spanner combines relational databases with horizontal scalability; the Analytics team aims to unify transactional and analytical workloads for real-time insights and lakehouse data.

You will work on a project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams as we grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of programming experience in C++.
• 3 years of experience in architecting and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems (storage, databases).
• Experience with cloud databases, performance optimization, and benchmarking.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
• Experience designing and developing relational databases, OLTP/OLAP systems, and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Lead design reviews with peers to decide on technologies.
• Review code and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
• Contribute to docs and educational content for updates.
• Triage issues and debug/resolve by analyzing sources.
