Job summary

Google LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Infrastructure in the Spanner Analytics group in Kirkland, WA. You will design and implement scalable infrastructure to unify transactional and analytical workloads, working on Spanner’s query engine, storage, and transaction processing.

The role emphasizes collaboration, performance optimization, and delivering enterprise-grade solutions across huge datasets, with opportunities to influence across the full stack and data analytics initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5 years of programming experience in C++.
• 3 years of experience in architecting and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems (storage, databases etc).
• Experience with cloud databases, performance optimization, and benchmarking.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide on the available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues.
