Job summary

Quicknode is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to architect and implement next‑gen, scalable infrastructure across bare‑metal, virtualization, and cloud environments. You will drive automation, standardization, and reliability, collaborating with Ops, CloudOps, and Platform teams to improve deployment efficiency and observability.

You bring 5+ years in systems or infrastructure engineering, with hands‑on experience in Linux/Unix, Terraform, Ansible, Consul, and CI/CD.

• Deep expertise in Linux/Unix systems and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
• Hands-on with automation and CI/CD tools like Terraform, Ansible, Consul, and Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Research, architect, and deploy complex infrastructure across bare-metal, hypervisors, orchestrators, VMs, and containers.
• Design and implement automation using Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration Management (Terraform, Ansible, Consul).
• Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, docs, and diagrams for scale and compliance.
• Partner with Ops, CloudOps, and Platform teams for integration, efficiency, and observability.
• Optimize resource allocation and cost while maintaining performance and uptime.

The Role

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Quicknode, you’ll play a pivotal role in architecting, developing, and implementing our next-generation infrastructure platforms across both private and public clouds. This role focuses on building robust, scalable systems that go beyond traditional cloud deployments — developing hybrid environments that integrate bare-metal, virtualization, and orchestration technologies.

You’ll drive automation, standardization, and operational excellence across Quicknode’s infrastructure ecosystem, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability as we expand our Web3 infrastructure footprint globally.

What You’ll Do

• Research, architect, and deploy complex infrastructure systems across bare-metal servers, hypervisors, orchestrators, virtual machines, and containerized environments.

• Design and implement automation using Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration Management principles (Terraform, Ansible, Consul) to ensure reproducibility, speed, and consistency in infrastructure deployment.

• Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, and architecture diagrams to support scale, reliability, and compliance across environments.

• Partner with Technical Operations, CloudOps, and Platform teams to ensure smooth integration of systems, improve deployment efficiency, and enhance observability.

• Optimize resource allocation and infrastructure cost efficiency while maintaining performance and uptime goals.

• Continuously improve resilience and scalability through proactive capacity planning, disaster recovery testing, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Systems Administration, Datacenter Operations, or Infrastructure Engineering, with deep expertise in Linux/Unix systems.

• Proven success designing and managing hybrid cloud and traditional infrastructure platforms at scale (bare-metal, virtualized, and cloud-native).

• Hands-on experience with automation, configuration management, and CI/CD tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Consul, and Jenkins.

• Proficiency with observability and monitoring platforms (Grafana, ELK, VictoriaMetrics, DataDog).

• Programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript.

• Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture principles — scalability, redundancy, fault tolerance, and cost optimization.

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and networking fundamentals across cloud and datacenter environments.

• A proactive, analytical mindset and the ability to deliver under pressure while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and reliability.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills to facilitate alignment across cross-functional engineering teams.
