Job summary

LHH in Smyrna, GA seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own a hybrid enterprise environment, guiding infrastructure modernization while mentoring staff. This full‑time on‑site role focuses on reliability, security, and operational efficiency across multiple departments.

You will lead AD, M365, Hybrid Exchange, and virtualization platforms, partner with cybersecurity teams, and coordinate with a managed service provider to meet organizational goals and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in infrastructure, or related field.
• Strong Active Directory expertise.
• Microsoft 365 administration experience.
• VMware or Hyper‑V experience.
• Hybrid identity experience (Entra ID, Entra Connect).
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Backup and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience working with MSPs.
• Ability to create technical documentation and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Own on-premises and hybrid infrastructure environments including servers, virtualization, storage, backup, and DR platforms.
• Lead administration of AD, Microsoft 365, Hybrid Exchange, VMware and/or Hyper‑V environments.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
• Build and execute modernization roadmaps focused on reliability, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Design and maintain PowerShell automation for provisioning, reporting, maintenance, and workflows.
• Manage and coordinate with a co‑managed MSP ensuring standards, service delivery, and project alignment.
• Mentor and support a junior infrastructure engineer.
• Improve monitoring, patching, backup validation, DR readiness, and governance.
• Partner with cybersecurity professionals and business stakeholders to maintain a secure environment.

$110,000 - $125,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

A rapidly growing and well-established organization is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of a hybrid enterprise infrastructure environment supporting mission‑critical business operations across multiple departments. This is a highly visible, hands‑on position for a technical leader who thrives in building, improving, and modernizing infrastructure while mentoring junior staff and directing managed service providers.

This role is based full‑time on‑site in Smyrna, Georgia, and requires a highly engaged infrastructure professional who enjoys being close to the technology, collaborating with operational teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Own and maintain on-premises and hybrid infrastructure environments, including servers, virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery platforms.
• Lead administration and optimization of: Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Hybrid Exchange, VMware and/or Hyper‑V environments
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
• Build and execute infrastructure modernization roadmaps focused on reliability, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Design and maintain PowerShell automation for provisioning, reporting, maintenance, and operational workflows.
• Manage and coordinate with a co‑managed MSP, ensuring technical standards, service delivery, and project execution align with organizational goals.
• Mentor and support a junior infrastructure engineer.
• Improve monitoring, patching, backup validation, disaster recovery readiness, and overall infrastructure governance.
• Partner closely with cybersecurity professionals and business stakeholders to maintain a secure and resilient environment.

Required Experience

• 6+ years of infrastructure, systems engineering, or related experience
• Active Directory expertise
• Microsoft 365 administration
• VMware and/or Hyper‑V experience
• Hybrid identity experience (Entra ID, Entra Connect, Hybrid Exchange)
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Backup and disaster recovery planning
• Experience working with or managing MSP relationships
• Ability to create technical documentation, standards, and operating procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Infrastructure modernization and growth‑stage company experience
• Microsoft, VMware, security, or networking certifications
• Experience leading or mentoring junior engineers
