Job summary

Blue Sky Innovators, Inc. seeks an experienced Information Systems Security Manager to lead defense-focused security for our sensitive data and systems in line with government regulations and industry standards.

You will oversee security policies, implement controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM, manage ATOs, coordinate with government agencies, perform risk assessments and incident investigations, and prepare management reports on compliance posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field.
• IAT Level III Certification (CISSP preferred).
• TS/SCI clearance required.
• 5+ years in information security within government defense.
• Deep understanding of NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR.
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption.
• Experience leading security incident response.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and controls per regulations.
• Maintain Authorities to Operate (ATOs).
• Conduct security assessments and audits for compliance.
• Coordinate with government agencies, auditors, stakeholders.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents; investigations and corrective actions.
• Manage security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption).
• Provide guidance on security best practices.
• Stay updated on threats in defense and cyber domains.
• Prepare and present reports on security posture to senior management and government stakeholders.
