Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Senior Information Security Engineer to oversee security of applications, networks, and systems. You will manage security and integrity of information systems across their lifecycle and act as a primary technical contact for other departments.

This role requires extensive experience, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a strong background in security controls, risk frameworks, and secure development practices.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools and LLMs.
• Familiarity with security risk frameworks and server architecture.
• Understanding of network concepts and host-based controls.
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and secure coding practices.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage security requirements for Firm assets and systems.
• Create and maintain the Firm-wide security architecture.
• Manage security requirements through development and acquisition lifecycles for all assets.
• Perform certification and accreditation prior to production release.
• Maintain inventories of software, applications, networks, hardware, and mobile devices.
• Define and implement controls to protect information assets per security requirements.
• Manage security configuration and changes across assets.
• Collaborate with teams outside Information Security.
• Mentor and support other team members daily.
