Job summary

A leading consulting firm is seeking a Senior Information Risk Consultant with 7+ years of experience in risk assessment. This role involves conducting risk assessments, identifying control gaps, and providing remediation recommendations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of technical infrastructure, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in information risk management frameworks. This is a contract position located in Dallas, TX or Tampa, FL, with no relocation assistance or visa sponsorship offered.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in risk assessment (application, infrastructure, or vendor risk management).
• Strong knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, databases, and cybersecurity risks.
• Proficiency in information risk management frameworks and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI for data analysis and presentations.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments of applications, infrastructure, and vendors using established methodologies.
• Identify and document control gaps and provide actionable remediation recommendations.
• Partner with business and technology teams to articulate risks clearly.
• Evaluate and ensure remediation plans effectively address identified risks.
• Document risks in the company's risk register and assist with policy exceptions and risk acceptance processes.
• Drive process improvements in the risk assessment program.
