Job summary

Mid-State is seeking a Project Manager in Lakeland, FL to lead industrial construction, maintenance, repair, and capital projects from preconstruction to closeout. You will independently plan and direct execution, coordinating labor, equipment, subcontractors, and safety.

This exempt, full-time role requires 5+ years in project management, PMP preferred, and strong leadership, scheduling, cost control, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Location: Lakeland, FL.

Responsibilities

• Review estimates, proposals, contracts, drawings, specs, schedules, and customer requirements during handoff to confirm scope and risks.
• Lead project kickoff activities and develop a comprehensive execution plan with objectives, milestones, staffing, logistics and communication protocols.
• Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules, cost-loaded budgets, manpower plans, procurement requirements, equipment needs, and look-ahead plans.
• Direct and coordinate project teams including superintendents, foremen, field personnel, vendors, and subcontractors; assign responsibilities and hold team accountable.
• Coordinate with operations, estimating, engineering, safety, quality, purchasing, and accounting to align resources and requirements.
• Interpret and administer contract documents; obtain clarifications when field conditions or drawings conflict.
• Coordinate site access, mobilization, laydown areas, permits, outages, tie-ins, and safety plans with client and field leadership.
• Champion the company’s safety culture and ensure work plans comply with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, procedures, codes, inspections and quality standards; coordinate testing, nonconformance resolution, and turnover.
• Purchase or coordinate materials, equipment rentals, and services; monitor commitments to support on-time delivery and schedule performance.
• Monitor daily field reports, labor productivity, equipment utilization, material usage, subcontractor performance, and schedule status to identify trends and take corrective action.
• Maintain cost controls and forecasts by reviewing labor, materials, and invoices against the budget.
