With over twelve years of a legacy of innovation, we're at the forefront of building reliable, affordable mass weapons that protect and empower our nation’s warfighters. Our tight-knit team thrives in a collaborative environment where safety, quality, and work-life balance come first with a focus on professional growth at our new 27,000+ sq. ft. facility. Join us to make a tangible impact on mission-critical technology while enjoying Northern Virginia's vibrant community.

Position: You will be the lead manufacturing engineering authority and technical leader for one of the company’s entire weapon-system production line with a team of QA engineers, mechanical/electrical engineers, manufacturing technicians, and floor support personnel. Reporting directly to the Senior Program Manager of Production, you will own all manufacturing engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, and technical support activities. You will be responsible for achieving and continuously improving production rate, yield, labor efficiency, cost, quality, and on-time delivery targets while scaling from low-rate to full-rate production.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Senior Program Manager, establish and execute the manufacturing strategy, scheduling, staffing, and issue resolution.
  • Lead a team of engineers, technicians and support staff through technical direction, mentorship and supporting the hiring process for additional staff.
  • Drive and manage cycle-time reduction, labor-hour improvement, first-pass yield and recurring cost reduction targets.
  • Own the production line layout, material flow, line balancing and other processes to ensure monthly yield goals are met.
  • Oversee all DFM/DFA, value engineering, and cost-reduction programs across the engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and control the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), routings, work instructions, tooling/fixture design, and ERP master data.
  • Provide input and direction on production capital budgets, facility expansion projects, automation initiatives, and new equipment needs and qualifications.
  • Act as a key manufacturing interface to the customer and senior leadership for all rate, cost, and technical performance reviews.
  • Ensure full compliance with AS9100D, ITAR, DFARS, safety and other company and customer requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of manufacturing/industrial engineering experience in aerospace/defense hardware production; at least 5 years in formal leadership of engineering teams with 10+ people.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading a defense production line from LRIP through full-rate production.
  • Experience with AS9100D audits, programmatic reviews, quality procedure development, execution and improvements.
  • U.S. citizenship with current Secret clearance required (or the ability to receive a clearance).
  • Exceptional leadership presence: able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, present to senior staff and customers, and work with leadership to drive technical/trade-off decisions.

Desired Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in organizations known for rapid innovation, aggressive execution, and continuous process improvement (e.g., SpaceX, Tesla, Amazon, or similar) is strongly preferred.
