Job summary

KOHLS is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to coordinate repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance across our distribution center in Ohio.

You will inspect conveyor systems daily, perform preventive maintenance on air compressors, HVAC units, and fire protection equipment, manage parts inventory, and support supervision with on-the-job training for associates.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
• Compliance with MSDS standards and lock‑out/tag procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must provide own basic set of tools and keep the work area neat and clean.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and repair of conveyor systems and equipment.
• Routine inspection, preventive maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power and material handling equipment.
• Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment.
• Parts administration.
• Meet with supervisor/manager to plan for future preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with managers to address mechanical opportunities and optimize productivity.
• Provide back-up for department leadership when absent.
• Compile and maintain inventory records and reports.
• Provide on-the-job training to Associates.
• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves.
• Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units.
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility.
• Assist outside contractors for various duties.
• Promptly respond to jams, malfunctions or other maintenance issues.

About the Role

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will efficiently coordinate and implement repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance in a cost-effective manner.

What You’ll Do

• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment
• Routine inspection, preventative maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power and material handling equipment
• Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment
• Parts administration

• Meet with department supervisor and/or manager to anticipate and plan for future preventive maintenance
• Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to address mechanical opportunities while ensuring optimum processing productivity
• Provide back-up for department Assistant Manager and/or Manager when absent
• Compile and maintain accurate inventory records and reports
• Provide on-the-job (OJT) training to Associates

• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves
• Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility

• Assist outside contractors to perform various duties
• Promptly answer calls for jams, malfunctions or other maintenance-related issues
