Job summary

KOHLS is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to coordinate repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance with a focus on cost-effective operations. This role involves hands-on maintenance of conveyors, compressors, fire protection systems, and general facility systems.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, preventive maintenance, parts administration, and inventory reporting. The candidate will train associates and provide back-up support for management when needed.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
• Compliance with all MSDS standards and lock‑out/tag procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must provide own basic set of tools and keep the work area neat and clean.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment.
• Maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power and material handling equipment.
• Inspect and repair of fire protection equipment.
• Parts administration.
• Meet with supervisor/manager to plan for future preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with managers to address mechanical opportunities and productivity.
• Provide back-up for department Manager when absent.
• Compile and maintain inventory records/reports.
• Provide on-the-job training to Associates.
• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves.
• Routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units.
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility.
• Assist outside contractors on varied duties.
• Respond to jams, malfunctions or maintenance-related issues.
