Job summary

Texas International Terminals (TXIT) in Galveston, TX, seeks a Fire Chief to provide senior technical and operational leadership for refinery, terminal, pipeline, and marine fire-response capabilities. You will support the Emergency Response Manager, serve as SME for firefighting, fire suppression tactics, training, pre-incident planning, drills, and mutual aid, and ensure readiness during off-hours.

This role requires 15+ years of experience in high-hazard industrial firefighting and strong

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive fire service and emergency response experience.
• Significant refinery, petrochemical, or other high-hazard industrial firefighting experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of industrial fire brigades or ERT.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection, firewater, foam, and suppression systems.
• ICS/NIMS training and advanced IC courses.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical fire response expert for refinery and terminal operations.
• Develop and maintain site-specific fire response strategies and tactics for high-hazard operations.
• Provide technical and tactical direction during refinery, terminal, pipeline, and marine fire emergencies.
• Lead or direct fire response operations within the Incident Command System when assigned.
• Coordinate fire response personnel and equipment and mutual-aid partners.
• Conduct drills, tabletop exercises, and full-scale emergency exercises.
