We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to support server manufacturing operations, production ramp, and factory expansion.

This position requires 10+ years of direct Industrial Engineering experience in Server EMS/ODM manufacturing. The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on experience in factory layout, capacity planning, manpower planning, line balancing, standard time, and productivity improvement.

Experience supporting a new factory start-up, major site expansion, or aggressive production ramp is strongly preferred.

This is a senior factory IE role. The candidate must be able to understand operational questions from Plant Manager and Operations leadership, quickly identify the key data and constraints, and provide practical analysis and recommendations that can support management decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own factory capacity and manpower planning based on customer demand, product mix, shift model, cycle time, yield, and production efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain headcount models for production and related operations, including direct labor, fixed-position labor, and supporting manpower.
  • Lead time study, standard time, takt time, line balancing, and labor utilization analysis for server assembly, test, pack-out, and related production processes.
  • Review actual production performance versus planned capacity and manpower, identify gaps, and drive improvement actions with Production and Engineering teams.
  • Identify the real production bottleneck across labor, equipment, test capacity, material flow, layout, and process constraints, and provide improvement proposals.
  • Plan and optimize factory layout, production lines, workstations, material flow, warehouse interface, WIP locations, and floor-space utilization.
  • Support NPI and MP ramp readiness, including production capacity, labor requirement, workstation quantity, equipment demand, floor space, and line configuration.
  • Develop capacity scenarios to answer management questions such as:
    • Required HC for different production volumes
    • Capacity impact from product mix or cycle-time changes
    • Additional equipment or floor-space requirements
    • Bottleneck impact on production output
    • Manpower reduction opportunities and associated risks
  • Support new line and factory expansion projects from initial planning through production launch.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Facilities, and Program teams to close capacity and productivity gaps.
  • Drive practical productivity improvements focused on UPH, labor efficiency, cycle time, line balance, WIP, material movement, and cost per unit.
  • Establish and maintain key IE data including standard time, routing, capacity assumptions, manpower standards, layout, and productivity baselines.
  • Prepare clear and concise capacity, manpower, and productivity reports for Plant Manager, Operations Director, and senior management.
  • Provide recommendations, not just data. Clearly explain the issue, operational impact, available options, risks, and recommended action.
  • Coach and guide junior Industrial Engineers and help establish consistent IE working methods for the factory.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering field.
  • 10+ years of direct Industrial Engineering experience in Server EMS/ODM manufacturing.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with:
    • Capacity planning
    • Headcount / manpower modeling
    • Time study and standard time
    • Line balancing
    • Factory and production-line layout
    • Productivity improvement
    • NPI and production ramp
  • Strong understanding of server manufacturing operations, including assembly, test, repair/rework, pack-out, warehouse/material flow, and supporting operations.
  • Able to independently analyze production data and convert findings into practical actions for factory management.
  • Comfortable working directly with Plant Manager, Operations Director, and cross-functional leadership in a fast‑paced factory environment.
  • Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.
  • Ability to build practical capacity and manpower models is required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex operational issues in a simple and decision-oriented manner.
Preferred Experience
  • Factory start-up / greenfield manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supporting major factory expansion or rapid production scale-up.
  • Experience in AI server, GPU server, rack server, or high-complexity server manufacturing.
  • Experience establishing IE standards, capacity models, manpower models, and layout plans for a new manufacturing site.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and manufacturing data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience working in a Tier‑1 EMS/ODM environment supporting major server or CSP customers.
What Success Looks Like
  • Can we meet the required output with the current lines and headcount?
  • Where is the real bottleneck?
  • Why does Production need this many people?
  • What happens if demand increases by 20%?
  • Do we need more people, more equipment, or better line balance?
  • How much floor space will the next ramp require?
  • Where can we reduce labor without creating production or delivery risk?
