Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Industrial Designer to join our Design Team. You will design and execute hardware solutions for Anduril products by partnering with engineering and fabrication teams, with a focus on fit, finish, and production readiness.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in product or industrial design, a strong portfolio demonstrating craft and production experience, and expert knowledge of 3D modeling and rendering tools. On-site at HQ in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years professional experience Product, Industrial Design, or equivalent.
• Portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft and production experience.
• Strong surface development, prototyping, and production knowledge.
• Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and DFM.
• Knowledge of general military application is a plus.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, NX, Keyshot, C4D or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• On-site at HQ and U.S. person for access to facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, visualize, and develop products and prototypes for real-world requirements around manufacturability and operator use.
• Rapidly execute end-to-end industrial design cycles and own simultaneous design efforts.
• Partner with designers, product architects, and mechanical engineers to shape a holistic form language across hardware.
• Communicate design intent through sketching, 3D CAD modeling with details inclusive of features and functionality.
• Support form language development and participate in design reviews and critiques.
• Product renderings with photorealistic textures and lighting.
• Define color, material, and finish, and create applied graphics.
• Validate designs using mockups and physical prototyping.
• Communicate with external suppliers, vendors, and teams.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Conceptualize, visualize, and develop products and prototypes for real-world requirements around manufacturability and operator use

• Partner with designers, product architects, and mechanical engineers to shape a holistic form language across hardware

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 6 years professional experience Product, Industrial Design, or equivalent
• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft and proficiency in surface development, prototyping, and production experience
• Excellent application of material surfacing, dimensionality, composition, scale, and form
• A deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and DFM
• Knowledge of general military application and mechanical authenticity is a plus
• Expert knowledge in industry-standard 3D modeling and rendering software such as SolidWorks, NX, Keyshot, C4D or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and business development
• A team player who brings a unique sense of aesthetics and passion for bringing concepts to life
• Must work on-site at HQ
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

US Salary Range

$167,000 — $222,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
