Impax Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced options trading professional to lead and grow a high-volume index options desk in New York. The role covers identifying opportunities, managing risk, and collaborating with engineering and research teams to improve execution and performance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in market making, deep volatility knowledge, and strong programming skills in Python or C++.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in high-volume index options market making.
• Deep knowledge of volatility dynamics and the ability to trade both short-term dislocations and longer-term mispricings.
• Strong understanding of portfolio risk, Greeks, and tail exposures in large options books.
• Experience operating automated, distributed trading systems.
• Familiarity with exchange microstructure and connectivity protocols to achieve best execution.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure trading environments.
• Motivated to take ownership and play a leading role in building a growing options platform.
• Programming in Python and/or C++.
• Meticulous attention to detail and operational rigor.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new options trading opportunities across listed index products
• Manage risk and performance across a sizable portfolio of index options
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve execution quality, system robustness, and latency
• Work alongside quantitative researchers and other traders to enhance and evolve existing strategies
• Support the growth of the desk by mentoring less experienced traders and researchers
