Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer, In-Line Vision Systems to design, implement, and support advanced vision-inspection for lithium-ion battery manufacturing across North America.

You will lead setup, integration, commissioning, and production stabilization of in-line vision systems on new production lines. The role requires deep expertise in camera and lighting configuration, defect-criteria definition, and deployment of deep-learning inspection models.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of automated in-line vision inspection systems in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with setup, commissioning, production startup, troubleshooting, and stabilization of vision systems.
• Experience developing and validating inspection recipes for packaging, dimensional, cosmetic, sealing, and contamination checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced vision-system engineering support to North American manufacturing entities.
• Lead or support installation, setup, configuration, integration, commissioning, and stabilization of in-line vision inspection systems.
• Develop, configure, validate, and optimize inspection recipes for pouch-cell packaging and related inspections.
• Configure cameras, lenses, lighting, triggers, and image-acquisition parameters to ensure consistent image quality.
• Establish and validate inspection standards, defect criteria, thresholds, tolerances, and pass/fail logic.
• Conduct validation studies to confirm inspection accuracy, repeatability, and production readiness.
• Train local engineers and operators on vision-system operation and deep-learning model management.
• Travel frequently to North American facilities for project support and handover.
