Job summary

CEVA Logistics in the United States is seeking a Senior Automation Implementation Engineer to lead the deployment of automated fulfillment solutions in new distribution centers. You will install, commission and optimize systems such as AS/RS, GTP, AMRs, Cobots, conveyors and sortation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet client specifications.

You will validate performance, ensure safety standards, and integrate automation with WMS/WCS/WES platforms, driving continuous improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years in logistics and distribution with at least 5 years in automation systems.
  • Experience deploying and commissioning automated fulfillment solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, configuration, testing, validation and commissioning of automated fulfillment systems (AS/RS, GTP, AMRs, Cobots).
  • Collaborate with Automation Implementation Manager, Solutions Design and vendors.
  • Conduct system validation and testing to meet performance, safety and ops requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise during integration with WMS, WCS and WES.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align timelines and deliverables.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with internal teams and vendors.
  • Support continuous improvement to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Document configurations, changes and test results for compliance.

YOUR ROLE

The Senior Automation Implementation Engineer is responsible for the integration, deployment,

commissioning, and optimization of automated fulfilment solutions in new Distribution Centers. This role

involves hands-on implementation, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and technical problem solving to ensure automation projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client specifications.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Main areas of focus and accountability of the role – detail in order of importance the main areas of accountability of the

role:

  1. 1 Lead the installation, configuration, testing, validation, and commissioning of automated fulfillment systems,
  2. including AS/RS, Goods-to-Person (GTP), AMRs, Cobots, conveyors, and sortation systems.
  3. 2 Collaborate closely with the Automation Implementation Manager, Solutions Design, and external vendors to interpret designs and ensure successful automation implementation.
  4. 3 Conduct system validation and testing to ensure automation solutions meet performance criteria, safety
  5. standards, and operational requirements.
  6. 4 Provide technical expertise during the integration of automation systems with warehouse management
  7. systems (WMS), warehouse control systems (WCS), and warehouse execution systems (WES).
  8. 5 Participate in cross-functional project meetings, offering technical input to align automation systems with
  9. project timelines and deliverables.
  10. 6 Identify and troubleshoot system issues during implementation and commissioning, working with internal
  11. teams and vendors to implement corrective actions.
  12. 7 Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing system optimizations to
  13. improve efficiency, throughput, and reliability.
  14. 8 Document system configurations, changes, and test results to ensure compliance with project documentation
  15. standards and facilitate future system maintenance.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The knowledge, experience and skills required to undertake the level at a fully competent level:

Essential Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics and distribution, with at least 5 years working directly with automation systems (e.g., AS/RS, GTP, AMRs, Cobots).
  • Proven experience in the deployment and commissioning of automated fulfillment solutions.

Desirable - Experience in third party logistics, omni-channel fulfilment, with focus on e-commerce fulfilment solutions

Specialist Knowledge & Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of automation systems, including hardware and software integration.
  • Experience with WMS, WCS, WES, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
