As You Sow seeks a Sr. Staff Attorney to lead in high-profile impact litigation and legal strategies advancing shareholder rights.

Responsibilities include responding to evolving legal challenges, drafting amicus briefs, and collaborating with colleagues and organizations to influence policy and corporate behavior. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience in environmental, corporate, securities, or administrative law, with a commitment to progressive social and environmental

Qualifications

• J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent);
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 3+ years of post-graduate legal experience with litigation
• Ability to work independently in a remote working environment
• Juggle multiple tasks & respond quickly to new challenges
• Produce work product in a rapidly evolving landscape
• Demonstrated commitment to progressive social & environmental change

Responsibilities

• Produce consistently high-quality work and undertake activities to promote environmental & social justice.
• Recruit & coordinate with outside pro bono counsel.
• Develop and carry out innovative legal cases advancing shareholder rights and regulatory matters.
• Assist staff in advancing As You Sow’s program areas and legal aspects of shareholder advocacy.
• Work with program staff and partners to respond to legal, economic, or political challenges.
• Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations.
