Job summary

Meso Scale Diagnostics in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a laboratory scientist to execute experiments and analyze data in support of reagent and assay development projects. The role focuses on leading-edge biomarker measurements with limited supervision.

Responsibilities include designing experiments, troubleshooting, data analysis with Excel and GraphPad Prism, preparing reports, and maintaining laboratory inventories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field required.
• Two years hands-on lab experience or one year with MSD platform required.
• Experience with antibody-based assays and reagent development preferred.
• BSL-2 training and experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and executes experiments with limited guidance using established protocols.
• Performs troubleshooting on experiments; reports issues and proposes solutions to manager.
• Performs data analysis using spreadsheets and graphing software. Prepares experimental reports and/or presentations. Presents findings to peer and supervisor review groups.
• Maintains laboratory supplies and equipment, maintains electronic inventory, and prepares reagent inventories.
• May monitor and report on the infrastructure of a particular lab or functional area.
• Specific duties may vary depending upon departmental requirements.
