Job summary

Vaxcyte in San Carlos, CA is seeking an accomplished Senior Manager, Immunoassay Development to join the CMC Immunoassay group. This role provides scientific and strategic leadership for development, qualification, and lifecycle management of reagents and reference materials supporting immunoassays across the vaccine pipeline.

Qualifications

PhD preferred with 8+ years of biopharma experience.
Hands-on immunoassay development, optimization, and lifecycle support in vaccine CMC or regulated environments.
Experience leading scientists, coordinating lab operations, and delivering analytical results.

Responsibilities

Manage daily immunoassay laboratory operations (scheduling, staffing, execution oversight).
Lead and mentor scientists and research associates in immunoassay development and platform evaluation.
Prioritize work based on program needs, timelines, and cross-functional deliverables.
Provide hands-on technical support for assay execution and troubleshooting as needed.
Coordinate outsourced immunoassay activities with CROs/CDMOs and vendors.
