Job summary

Lear Corporation in Comstock Park, Michigan seeks a Senior Ignition Developer to lead ignition standards, pipelines, databases, and interfaces. You will oversee HMI/SCADA design, testing, and training, interfacing with instrumentation, PLCs, and IT/OT systems across on‑prem and cloud environments.

You will work with clients and team members to deliver innovative Ignition solutions, develop dashboards, and ensure system reliability, security, and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, Java and related languages.
• 7+ years designing, developing, and deploying Ignition SCADA (Vision/Perspective).
• Architect and develop enterprise Ignition 8.x SCADA solutions including Perspective HMI/SCADA.
• Design UDT hierarchies, Tag Historian, Transaction Groups, and Alarming per ISA-95/ISA-88.
• Develop complex SQL-based data integration and reporting across databases.
• Lead OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, RESTful API integrations; use WebDev module.
• Lead customer-facing discussions; knowledge of ISA/IEC 62443 cybersecurity and IT/OT networks.
• Commission systems on-site, perform FAT/SAT, and train client teams.

Responsibilities

• LeadIgnition system development across desktop and mobile displays.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to deliver solutions.
• Connect to diverse data sources and equipment.
• Ensure alarm management per ISA‑18.2 and alarm notifications.
• Develop compliant reporting and custom dashboards.
• Perform FAT/SAT and on-site commissioning with client training.
