Job summary

Cognizant in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior IBM i / AS400 RPG Architect for a hybrid role. You will lead design and implementation of solutions using AS/400, RPG, DDS, CLP, SQL, and related technologies to meet business needs.

The role requires strong Accounting/Finance background and experience supporting complex applications in commercial real estate; 3 days per week on-site in Dallas, with flexibility to balance work-life and client engagements.

Qualifications

• RPG (RPG III, IV, ILE, Free-Format).
• CLP programming experience.
• DDS programming knowledge.
• SQL programming proficiency.
• Embedded RPG/SQL programming.
• Java/RPG Java calls experience.
• Client Access/File Transfer (FTP/SFTP).
• Aldon LMi change management system experience.
• IFS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical, technical, and administrative activities in development, implementation, and support of software.
• Identify, analyze, and document business needs by conferring with staff or users.
• Develop, modify, maintain, test, and install applications to meet requirements.
• Code and debug programs per systems design and specs.
• Perform ongoing systems maintenance of custom applications for reliability and efficiency.
• Strong Accounting/Finance background and Real Estate industry experience a plus.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the design and implementation of technical solutions using AS/400 Utilities and RPG to meet business requirements.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of applications using AS400/COBOL and CLP to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform various analytical, technical, and administrative activities in the development, implementation, and support of in-house and vendor-developed software
• IIdentify, analyze, and document business needs and system requirements by conferring with staff or users.
• Develop, modify, maintain, test, and install applications to meet business requirements.
• Code and debug programs in accordance with systems design and technical specifications.
• Perform ongoing systems maintenance of custom applications to ensure proper application operation, functional efficiency, and effectiveness
• Having a strong Accounting/Finance background and experience supporting complex applications in the commercial Real Estate industry are a plus.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until 10/28/2026.

The annual salary for this position is up to $140k depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
