Job summary

Halff is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Engineer (PE) to join our Energy team out of our Texas or Oklahoma locations. The I&E Engineer will lead and support the design and execution of electrical power and instrumentation systems for midstream and upstream Oil & Gas and pipeline projects.

This role combines technical design, project management support, and client interaction, with opportunities to mentor department personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 12+ years of I&E engineering experience, preferably in Oil & Gas or Energy.
• Leadership and mentoring experience; client interaction skills.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, API, AGA; field/construction support okay.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design and execution of electrical power and instrumentation systems for oil & gas and pipeline projects.
• Manage multiple projects with scheduling, resources, and quality control.
• Perform field visits to collect data and support construction.
• Mentor engineers and EITs within the project team.
• Interface with utilities, vendors, and contractors to coordinate design and installations.
• Develop equipment specifications and perform design reviews and analyses.
• Support proposals, RFQs, and client presentations.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction throughout project lifecycle.
• Monitor budgets and optimize project efficiency and profitability.
