Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer to provide technical leadership in structural engineering for complex projects.

You will plan and develop designs and supervise multidisciplinary teams, with potential Project Manager responsibilities on larger initiatives. Required is a Civil or Structural Engineering degree with a minimum of 10 years in building design and a PE license.

Qualifications

• Requires PE license recognized by licensing board for position location (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
• Experience in design calculations and layouts for structural projects.
• Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
• Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms.

Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer

In the role of Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects; resolve problems of greater scope and complexity
• Plan and develop projects or design activities
• Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians
• Serve as Project Manager on larger projects, though project management is not sole focus of position
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architectural Engineering, Structural emphasis

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software
• Experience in design calculations and layouts
• Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood
• Requires understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
