Job summary

Banner Life family of companies is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to ensure stability, security, and operation of BannerPRT infrastructure across Azure, Microsoft 365, and on‑premises environments. The role partners with MSPs to maintain service quality in a regulated setting.

The position requires 7+ years in systems administration, hands-on Azure/M365/AD expertise, and experience with hybrid cloud, audits, and security controls.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server / Active Directory.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of identity and access management concepts.
• Experience operating in regulated or audit-driven environments.
• Experience coordinating with or overseeing managed service providers.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Azure infrastructure services including Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC, PIM, networking, compute, and storage.
• Manage and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Support on-premises infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
• Design and maintain hybrid integration between on-premises systems and Azure.
• Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventative remediation.
• Work closely with managed service providers (MSPs) to oversee service delivery, validate work quality, enforce standards, and address performance or compliance issues.
• Implement and maintain security controls aligned with SOC 2 and NIST principles.
• Support audits, risk assessments, and evidence collection activities.
• Define, maintain, and improve operational runbooks, monitoring, backup, and recovery processes.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to system administrators and service desk staff.
• Partner with IT leadership on platform improvements, standardization, and roadmap planning.
