Job summary

CoolSys is seeking a skilled Service Technician for HVAC/R repair and maintenance. You will service refrigeration, heating and ventilation systems across various environments, ensuring prompt and precise workmanship.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and quality outcomes with ongoing training opportunities. Candidates should have 5+ years in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and related equipment, plus a valid driver’s license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, ice machines and gas furnaces.
• Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience and supermarket stores.
• Expert knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical.
• Expert knowledge of single systems, rack systems, display cases and walk-in boxes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair computer controls.
• Good mechanical skills and strong customer communications.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to follow policies and safety rules.
• Proficient with standard business tools (Email, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Provides expert service by repairing and overhauling equipment safely and timely.
• Repairs refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment including AC units and gas furnaces.
• Performs preventative maintenance and diagnoses equipment malfunctions.
• Processes job tickets and work orders to necessary departments promptly.
• Trains new or junior technicians as needed.
• Maintains truck inventory and drives company vehicle safely.

JOB SUMMARY

TheService Tech5-HVACis responsible forrepairing andoverhaulingequipment, refrigeration,heatingand ventilation equipment to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, accurately andon-time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides expert service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, suchascompressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical controldevicesin a safe,efficientandtimelymanner that exceeds the customer?s expectations.

• Provides expert repair work on refrigeration,heatingand ventilation equipment, suchasair conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces,compressorsand electric motors in a safe andtimelymanner.

• Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.

• Provides department support by processing job tickets, work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.

• Provides necessary training to new or less qualified technicians as needed.

• Maintains proper truck inventorycontinuously anddrives companyvehiclein a safe manner.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education / Training

• High school diploma, GED, or completion from trade program or technical school,required.

• Must have passed Tech Skills level5withan 80% or better.

• Must have a valid CFC certificate.

• All required safety certifications.

Work Experience/Skills

• 5+ years’ experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, ice machine and gas furnacerequired.

• Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience andsupermarketstores.

• Expert knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, andelectrical.

Work Environment

This job typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service and/or construction environment with need to work at heights from ladders and/or Scissor lifts.?Mechanical rooms can have elevated noise levels.?The position regularly works near/with refrigeration/HVAC equipment that can expose the workers to extreme cold from refrigerant and high heat from brazing operations.?This role routinely works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.?These conditions require employees to use the correct PPE and safe work practices.

Physical Demands

This position is very active and requires excellent stamina to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Employees are regularly required to walk and stand for long periods, hear, drive, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, use hands and fingers, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
