Job summary

Rheem North America is seeking a Project Engineer III (Design & Development) to lead design and development of commercial rooftop and split HVAC&R systems. You will model, simulate, prototype, test, and analyze from concept through launch, while driving cost improvements and maintenance.

You will work with Rheem North America in Fort Smith, AR, in a hybrid setup with in-office Monday–Thursday and remote Fridays. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace or related Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in product development related to HVAC&R equipment.
• Experience in a phase gate development environment.
• Experience developing and validating HVAC systems with inverter-driven compressors and advanced controls.
• Strong thermo-fluid modeling and design proficiency.
• Hands-on lab experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of next-gen commercial rooftop and split-system products.
• Coordinate design, testing, and validation from concept through launch.
• Perform thermo-fluid analysis and use in-house tools and CAE.
• Collaborate with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance.
• Design components for HVAC systems and ensure system integration.
• Plan concept and validation testing for performance and reliability.
• Create project reports and manage timelines and budgets.
