Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a senior HVAC and/or plumbing designer for an on-site, full-time role in Sandy, UT. The candidate will develop detailed HVAC/plumbing designs, coordinate 3D models in Revit, and collaborate with engineers and architects to deliver high-quality building systems.

Ideal applicants have 5+ years of relevant design experience, hands-on Revit proficiency, and a solid grasp of building systems, drawings, and coordination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC and/or plumbing system design experience.
• Strong hands-on experience using Revit for HVAC or plumbing system design.
• Solid understanding of commercial building systems, technical drawings, and design coordination.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and architectural teams.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational abilities.
• Experience designing both HVAC and plumbing systems is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed HVAC and/or plumbing system designs for commercial building projects.
• Create, modify, and coordinate mechanical drawings and 3D building models using Revit.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams to develop practical, efficient design solutions.
• Produce accurate design documentation, layouts, and technical drawings.
• Identify and resolve design challenges while maintaining quality and coordination across building systems.
• Apply your technical experience to support successful project delivery from design development through construction.

Location:

Sandy, UT. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in a collaborative office environment, ideal for designers who enjoy working closely with their team. Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and technical expertise.

Note:

Candidates must have 5+ years of commercial HVAC and/or plumbing design experience and hands‑on Revit design proficiency. Experience in either commercial HVAC design or commercial plumbing design qualifies for consideration.
