BKV Group in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in HVAC and plumbing design, with a PE license. You will lead design efforts on commercial and mixed-use projects and coordinate across disciplines.

The role requires 8+ years of relevant experience, strong Revit and Trane TRACE skills, and knowledge of ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, IECC codes. Expect client interactions and mentoring of staff.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of HVAC and plumbing design experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and MS Office.
• Hands-on experience with Trane TRACE software.
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, IECC and local codes.
• Excellent presentation and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and basis-of-design documentation for projects.
• Direct HVAC and plumbing calculations, models, drawings, and specs.
• Coordinate with architecture, structural, electrical, and PM teams.
• Represent Mechanical discipline in client meetings and workshops.
• Support construction administration with submittals and RFIs.
• Mentor engineers and designers; uphold design standards and QA/QC.
