Job summary

BKV Group in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer—HVAC and plumbing—with a PE license for the Chicago office. You will lead projects from concept through construction, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality deliverables for commercial and mixed-use developments.

With 8+ years of HVAC/plumbing experience, you will model and design systems, coordinate across disciplines, and represent the Mechanical team in client meetings while upholding codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of HVAC and plumbing design experience in commercial/mixed-use projects.
• Strong leadership and client-facing communication skills.
• Proficiency with Revit and energy modeling tools (Trane TRACE) and knowledge of applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and basis-of-design documentation for projects.
• Perform HVAC and plumbing calculations, models, drawings, and specs.
• Coordinate with architecture, structures, electrical, and management teams.
• Represent Mechanical team in client meetings and design workshops.
• Mentor engineers and ensure QA/QC across deliverables.
