Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking an Experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our on-site team in Bozeman, Montana. You will lead the design of complex HVAC and plumbing systems for diverse building types, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and designers.

Day-to-day responsibilities include developing HVAC design concepts, conducting site assessments, and ensuring code-compliant, high-quality construction documents while mentoring engineers and drafters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in consulting HVAC engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain licensure.
• Proficient in Revit MEP for mechanical design and coordination.
• Ability to design complex HVAC systems (VAV, DOAS, VRF, data room cooling, packaged rooftops).
• Advanced knowledge of heating/cooling load calculations, ventilation, and codes.
• Able to lead engineers and drafters to produce construction documents.
• Proficient in mechanical specs and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of HVAC design concepts, independently or with others.
• Conduct site assessments and building analysis for reports and recommendations.
• Identify energy conservation measures and estimate costs.
• Provide quality control on mechanical designs and feedback.
• Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge for stamping & signing documents.
• Mentor a team of engineers and drafters to produce construction documents.
