Job summary

MSS Solutions, LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead detailed cost estimates for HVAC projects. This role demands collaboration with the Director of Preconstruction and senior leadership to drive profitable bids.

You will develop bid packages, perform quantity take-offs, and support project teams from schematic design through construction documents, while mentoring junior estimators and ensuring accurate budgets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in the HVAC industry.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction plans and specifications.
• Understanding HVAC systems and controls and basic HVAC principles, concepts, and perform calculations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating, bidding, vendor and subcontractor proposal review and purchasing processes.
• Collaborate with Director of Preconstruction to determine bid/no bid.
• Assign lead estimator for each project based on skillset and schedule alignment.
• Mentor estimators and supervise their work.
• Develop budgets from narratives during schematic design and through design development and to construction documents.
• Prepare and review contract terms and conditions using standard templates.
