Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Transmission Engineer in Houston to design and oversee high-voltage transmission lines and systems.

You will conduct load flow studies, analyze structures, prepare detailed drawings, and coordinate with project teams to ensure on-time delivery. The role requires a PE license, ABET-accredited degree, and 10+ years in transmission engineering, with proficiency in PLS-CADD, PSS/E, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
• 10+ years of experience in transmission engineering or a related field
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
• Experience with overhead and underground distribution systems is highly preferred
• Proficiency in transmission line design software such as PLS-CADD, AUTOCAD, M-FAD, LPILE analysis, or similar
• Ability to interpret boring log information, analyze structure calculations and design distribution
• Strong understanding of power systems analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and stability studies

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-voltage transmission lines and systems, including route selection, structure design, and conductor sizing
• Perform load flow studies, with steel/concrete structure and foundation design & analysis, and stability analyses to ensure reliability and safety of transmission systems
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and drawings for transmission projects
• Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery
• Analyze and troubleshoot existing transmission systems to improve efficiency and reliability
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including NERC, FERC, and local codes
• Utilize advanced software tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, PSS/E, AutoCAD) for system analysis and design
