Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to design data center power systems and substations, driving high reliability and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include leading design teams, coordinating with utilities, and delivering construction-ready documents across multiple sites. Travel up to 20% between Virginia and Seattle is expected, with international collaboration as needed. A PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in industrial or commercial engineering for mission critical facilities.
• Experience reading and creating construction drawings, specs, submittals.
• Experience with electrical distribution systems from low to high voltage.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or 12+ years’ related experience.
• 7+ years in industrial or commercial electrical design.
• 4+ years creating design docs for construction or permitting.

Responsibilities

• Lead data center substation electrical designs and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Define project scope and provide technical support during construction.
• Review and approve equipment submittals and vendor specs.
• Work with utilities and agencies to ensure codes and site requirements.
• Support commissioning and startup, with multi-site agile execution.
