Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior HSE Manager for a West Texas-based heavy fabrication operation serving the energy sector. This hands-on role leads site-wide health, safety and environmental initiatives and collaborates with senior management to strengthen safety culture in a fast-paced production environment.

The successful candidate will oversee OSHA compliance, incident investigations, safety audits and training programs, while promoting safe working practices across manufacturing

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy fabrication/industrial manufacturing environments.
• 3+ years of health and safety experience, including 2+ years in supervisory/management roles.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and workplace safety systems.
• Experience with incident investigations, safety audits, training and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve site-wide health, safety and environmental initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and applicable environmental legislation.
• Carry out routine safety inspections, workplace assessments and compliance audits.
• Investigate incidents, identify underlying causes and implement preventive measures.
• Develop and deliver employee safety training and onboarding programmes.
• Maintain safe systems of work for high-risk activities (confined space, welding, respiratory protection).
• Track HSE performance, identify improvements and report to senior management.
• Partner with production supervisors to promote safe practices.
• Support improvements to safety procedures and risk management processes.

The Opportunity

We're working with a well-established industrial manufacturing business serving the energy sector to recruit an experienced Senior HSE Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on safety leader to take responsibility for HSE performance within a fast-paced production environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening workplace safety, improving operational standards and supporting leadership in developing a positive, proactive safety culture.

The position is primarily facility-based, with regular involvement across manufacturing operations and close collaboration with operational management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve site-wide health, safety and environmental initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and applicable environmental legislation.
• Carry out routine safety inspections, workplace assessments and compliance audits.
• Investigate incidents, identify underlying causes and implement effective preventive measures.
• Develop and deliver employee safety training and onboarding programmes.
• Maintain safe systems of work for higher-risk activities, including confined space entry, welding operations and respiratory protection.
• Track HSE performance, identify improvement opportunities and provide updates to senior management.
• Partner with production supervisors and operational teams to promote safe working practices.
• Support ongoing improvements to safety procedures, documentation and risk management processes.

What We're Looking For

• Proven HSE experience within a heavy fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment is essential.
• At least 3 years of relevant health and safety experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Experience working with steel fabrication, industrial equipment manufacturing, vessel production or similar operations.
• Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and workplace safety systems.
• Practical experience with incident investigations, safety audits, employee training and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to engage confidently with both senior management and shop-floor employees.
• A proactive, approachable leadership style with a strong commitment to operational safety.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations within the oil and gas supply chain would be particularly beneficial.
