Job summary

CampusWorks seeks an experienced Assistant Vice President of Human Resources to lead onsite HR operations at Howard Community College. You will drive talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training, and compliance while partnering with senior leaders to align HR strategies with institutional goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience in higher education or public sector.
• Experience in employer branding, talent management, and unionized environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Partner with VP HR to align HR strategies with the college’s mission and goals.
• Talent Management: Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, employer branding, and succession planning.
• HR Operations & Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; manage compensation, benefits, and performance systems.
• Employee Relations: Foster a positive employee relations environment; mediate concerns and resolve conflicts.
• Performance Metrics & Reporting: Establish KPIs and present workforce trends to leadership.
