Job summary

Navaide is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to lead the daily HR functions for our nationwide government contracting client base. The role blends strategic initiatives with hands-on operations, covering employment, compensation, benefits, payroll, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development.

This is a hands-on role ideal for an HR professional who thrives in fast-growth environments. You will partner with the HR team to roll out people and culture programs, administer benefits

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of HR experience with at least 1 year in a strategic role.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Small business experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations.
  • Experience creating, implementing and administering people and culture programs.
  • Proven success in operational and strategic HR support.
  • Strong project and personnel management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-growth environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Discretion, flexibility, and ability to work with senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement people and culture initiatives to drive morale and strengthen culture.
  • Provide employee support through onboarding, morale, talent development, and offboarding.
  • Develop, implement policies and procedures, maintain employee handbook, ensure compliance.
  • Administer benefits and total rewards programs with brokers.
  • Conduct annual compensation analysis and internal audits.
  • Manage employment-related issues including performance, coaching, investigations, discipline, terminations.
  • Support succession and workforce planning with the talent team.
  • Establish SOPs and measure success via feedback and analytics; leverage technology/AI.
  • Support internal employee communications and engagement initiatives.
  • Own and manage HRIS platforms and other HR technology.

Position:

Senior HR Generalist will conduct the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department for a nationwide small government contractor. The role will serve as the lead HR employee responsible for functions including, but not limited to: employment, compensation, benefits and leave, payroll, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development. Additionally, this role will partner with the HR team to develop and drive creative people and culture initiatives and activities. This is a hands-on role ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being both strategic and operational.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement people and culture initiatives to drive employee morale, strengthen our culture, and be known as a top employer of choice internally and externally.
  • Provide employee support through the employee lifecycle including onboarding, employee morale, talent development, and offboarding.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures, prepare and maintain employee handbook, and ensure compliance across state, federal, and industry requirements.
  • Perform benefit administration to include managing our benefit relationships, coordinating with our benefits broker for selection and implementation and identifying new and innovative total rewards programs.
  • Conduct annual compensation analysis to make recommendations for annual reviews, new hires, and conduct internal audits.
  • Manage employment related issues including performance management, employee and leadership coaching, investigations, discipline, and terminations.
  • Partner with the talent team to support succession & workforce planning to ensure the organization has the right talent pipeline in place, identifying critical roles, assessing readiness, and anticipating future staffing needs.
  • Build best practices, establish standard operating procedures, and measure success of people and culture initiatives through employee feedback and analytics while continuously seeking process improvement through the use of technology and AI.
  • Support internal employee communication initiatives.
  • Own and manage the HRIS platforms and other HR technology.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 6 years related HR experience, at least 1 of these years in a strategic role.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Small business experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations.
  • Experience in creating, implementing and administering people and culture programs.
  • Must have demonstrated success in operational and strategic HR support.
  • Exceptional project and personnel management skills.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment .
  • Proficiency in MS Suite including Word, Excel and Power Point is essential.
  • Exhibit extraordinary discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our senior management team and maintain sensitive data and information.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Government contracting experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Position is hybrid with 3 days in the San Diego or Arlington office.
