Job summary

ExxonMobil in Spring, TX, seeks an HPC Systems Engineer to design, deploy and manage a high-performance computing environment. You’ll join a small team of HPC specialists and handle day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance across multiple supercomputers and large parallel file systems.

The role requires 5+ years in Linux, HPC tech, and data center operations, with hands-on experience in Lustre/GPFS, Infiniband/Omni-Path, and PBSPro/SLURM.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years Linux experience and production infrastructure support.
• 5+ years in HPC tech including parallel file systems, high-speed interconnects, and batch scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Establish strategies for support of HPC systems portfolio across the domain.
• Evaluate hardware/software benefits for scientific computing and seismic imaging.
• Perform OS installations and upgrades in a world-class HPC environment.
• Monitor system health and coordinate with vendors for hardware support.
• Support management of data (140+ Petabytes of parallel filesystem).
• Provide advanced user consulting to enable effective use of systems.
