Job summary

ASRC Federal is seeking a Staff HPC Engineer to support InuTeq LLC out of NASA Ames, CA. This role focuses on maintaining large-scale HPC clusters, InfiniBand networks, and storage systems to enable mission-critical workloads.

The successful candidate will contribute to Linux system administration, network fabric tuning, performance optimization, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team on HPC lifecycle activities for federal customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Strong computer science background with in-depth systems-level knowledge in operating systems and networking.
• 7+ years of Linux administration experience.
• Experience with InfiniBand HDR/EDR fabrics, HCAs, switches, and fabric topology.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or Perl.
• Ability to interact with customers to understand needs and provide solutions.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains HPC clusters with thousands of nodes and large storage.
• Administer InfiniBand fabrics including switches and HCAs.
• Monitor fabric health, performance, and topology; manage SM services.
• Develop and run performance baselines for bandwidth, latency, and throughput.
• Install, configure, and patch HPC systems and software stacks.
• Automate health checks and maintenance tasks using scripts and Ansible.
• Provide after-hours support as required.
• Document configurations and procedures.
