Job summary

Lambda Labs is seeking a Senior HPC Systems Architect to design and lead large-scale, liquid-cooled HPC infrastructure. You will translate GPU compute advances into scalable, production-ready systems that power AI workloads for customers worldwide.

In this role you will define system requirements, lead architecture reviews, develop testing frameworks, and mentor engineering teams. The position requires presence in our San Francisco or San Jose office four days per week, with a flexible

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and architecting large-scale HPC and distributed systems.
• Expert knowledge of GPU clusters, high‑speed networking (InfiniBand, Ethernet), and distributed storage.
• Hands-on experience with direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems.
• Proven ability to develop robust benchmarks, capacity planning, and system validation.
• Strong skills in architecture, design documentation, and technical specifications.
• Ability to collaborate across teams to align solutions with business goals.
• Self-motivated, strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect advanced HPC systems optimized for large-scale computational workloads and AI applications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to define system requirements and performance goals.
• Develop comprehensive testing frameworks to assess performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and architectural approaches to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
• Create detailed architectural plans, documentation, and blueprints to guide implementation teams.
