Job summary

NMIC is seeking a Supervising Attorney (Housing) to lead the Legal, Organizing & Advocacy unit. You will supervise housing attorneys, mentor staff, and manage a small caseload while coordinating trials and hearings. The role reports to the Assistant Director for Housing and requires strong English language skills and NYS Bar admission.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and writing skills in English.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• JD and NYS Bar admission required.
• At least 3 years of housing legal experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise housing attorneys in housing matters and provide mentorship.
• Maintain a small independent caseload of housing matters.
• Coordinate trial dates and supervise hearings and trials.
• Lead group attorney meetings and provide court supervision.
• Collaborate with the Housing Department leadership to ensure high-quality services.
