Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Senior Public Safety Officer to provide a visual security presence across the campus, screening entrants and monitoring activity to keep patients, visitors, physicians, and staff safe. The role includes routine patrols, incident response, and collaboration with local police for detentions when required.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of related security experience, with preferred Police Academy background and possible

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent AND 2 years of directly related Security experience.
• Police Academy Graduate is preferred.
• 3 years of directly related Security experience will be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

• Patrols campus to maintain safety, security, crowd control and order.
• Responds to disturbances and de-escalates situations involving staff, patients, and visitors.
• Works with NOPD to detain offenders and addresses various security incidents.
• Performs operations to prevent car theft, burglaries, and other security risks.
• Assists with restraining orders and emergency response as needed.
• Operates security screening equipment and access control systems.
