Job summary

The State of South Carolina Office of Resilience is seeking an experienced professional for complex residential inspections. Under minimal supervision, you will verify renovations meet HUD HQS standards and document findings for each site.

Responsibilities include reporting, re-inspections, and training staff on HQS requirements, with emphasis on accuracy and high-quality customer service throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience within the construction trades, either in inspections and/or remodeling.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to demonstrate mediation, negotiation, organization and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Completes quality control inspection of residential homes under renovation and re-construction.
• Ensures renovations conform to HUD HQS as defined by the program.
• Identifies recurring issues in the field and trains staff on HUD HQS.
• Creates home inspection reports for all completed renovations.
• Re-inspects homes that fail initial inspections.
• Documents information pertaining to each residence under construction.
