Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus histology training completion.
• HT/HTL ASCP certification required or earned within 180 days of hire.
• Preferred associate degree in science or ASCP-complete histology training.

Responsibilities

• Performs frozen sections and daily preparation of paraffin sections for staining.
• Executes special stains, quality control, and equipment maintenance.
• Maintains processing protocols for tissue types per lab guidelines.
• Assists with instruction, data entry, and quality documentation as needed.
• Participates in process improvements and supports accreditation activities.
