Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center, the premier National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Florida, is seeking a Senior HIM Operations Data Specialist to review and correct patient health records and support coding accuracy.

You will train new team members, analyze trends, and coordinate with clinical staff to resolve documentation issues while maintaining compliance and data integrity. This role supports the HIM team and contributes to efficient revenue cycle processes.

Qualifications

• Strong medical terminology experience.
• Clear understanding of revenue cycle applications, including electronic health records.
• Excellent ability to use spreadsheet, word processing, statistical, project management, and presentation software applications, preferably Microsoft Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
• Ability to execute strategy, communicate knowledge of business processes and enable technologies to produce results
• Ability to manage own schedule and responsibilities. Must have initiative to work effectively without constant supervision and direction in order to meet all deadlines
• Ability to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment with identified productivity requirements and with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles

Responsibilities

• Researching, reviewing, processing, amending and correcting requests impacting the patient health records, amendments and corrections.
• Serve as liaison between clinical staff and HIM team to ensure integrity of patient medical records and enhance coding and billing accuracy.
• Provide backup in all areas and assist the supervisor with training, complaint follow-up, and escalation points.
