Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience including Resident Engineer roles.
• 5 years working as a Resident Engineer on Caltrans Highway improvement projects.
• Understanding of construction management and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of personnel by observing contractor’s operations.
• Review contractor operations for compliance with regulations.
• Provide directions to staff for accurate contract records.
• Attend and lead construction meetings with clients and contractors.

Skills

Experience as a Resident Engineer

Effective oral and written communication skills

Understanding of contract documents

Knowledge of applicable codes and standards

Education

Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field
