Job summary

The University of Rochester’s Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) Electronics and Controls Engineering group seeks an experienced high-speed analog electronics design engineer to design and support custom high-speed/high-bandwidth circuits used on high-power laser systems. You will work independently with scientists and engineers within a team, writing requirements and documenting final assemblies.

The successful candidate should have a PhD in Electrical Engineering with 3 years of experience

Qualifications

• Design, assemble, test and troubleshoot electronic circuits and systems.
• Laboratory measurement techniques using high‑bandwidth oscilloscopes and RF/microwave equipment.
• CAD schematic capture and circuit simulation (SPICE) required.
• Ability to manage budgets and schedules for projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and maintain high-speed electronic circuits and systems for laser experiments.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers across disciplines, presenting project reviews.
• Document requirements, field equipment, and assemble final hardware.
