Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a High Net Worth Tax Principal to lead our private wealth practice. You will guide complex tax planning for wealthy individuals, families and their businesses, mentoring staff and partnering with firm leadership to deliver exceptional client service.

The role requires a CPA or JD, 10+ years in tax planning, and leadership in a public accounting tax environment. You will help grow the practice with a focus on comprehensive estate, gift, and succession planning.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or law required.
• CPA or JD required.
• Experience as a leader in a public accounting firm in the Tax space.
• 10+ years’ tax planning/consulting for wealthy individuals, family trusts, investment entities, and private businesses; strong in personal, trust, estate & gift, charitable taxation with flows to partnerships and corporations.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational affluent families, family offices and their private businesses/investment entities.
• Lead multiple engagements delivering proactive tax planning and strategic consulting including federal, estate, gift, charitable planning and generation skipping tax.
• Advise and make recommendations to clients on business succession planning.
• Stay up-to-date on trends and authorities, applying them to complex situations, and mentor staff accordingly.
