Job summary

NeoGenomics Laboratories in Fort Myers, FL, seeks a Hematopathologist for an onsite role with a Tuesday–Saturday day shift. You will perform comprehensive hematopathology work integrating morphology with Flow Cytometry, Cytogenetics, FISH and Molecular genetics.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years post-fellowship hematopathology experience, unlimited FL license or eligible, and a track record in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree and board certification/eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology preferred; board certification in Hematopathology is required.
• Active or eligibility for an unrestricted Medical License in the state of FL required; CA/NY/TX eligibility a plus.
• At least five years attending level experience in hematopathology is encouraged.
• Experience using LIS with online transcription, reporting and electronic signature.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and/or cytology material with gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation and electronic release.
• Reads and interprets laboratory data.
• Participates in quality control and assurance activities.
• Interacts with clients for Pre-Analytical, Analytical, and Post-Analytical questions.
• Provides expertise to technologists to resolve case issues.
• Acts as Delegated Clinical Consultant when assigned by site Medical Director.
• Works with staff to maintain high standards of turnaround time, quality and service.
• Builds relationships with referring physicians and ensures client follow-up.

Education

Active medical license in FL or eligibility

Eligibility for CA, NY and TX a plus
